We honor and treasure each one of you more than words can say. As our co-workers in Christ, your support over the years has been a constant source of encouragement and strength. Each time you pray asking for the Lord’s guidance and protection over us, every time you contribute financially, every time you engage with us in person or share with someone the Agape of God that was made available to all, we want you to know that it is life-giving seed and that none of it has been in vain!
What a relief to learn that Jesus never said it would be by the accuracy of our doctrine that men will know that we are his disciples but by the way in which we love one another (John 13:35). Love is freely available to the wealthy and the poor, the intellectual and the simple-minded, the powerful and the meek. Every time you love the unlovable, you act in accordance with the nature of Christ in you, and all the power and authority of heaven is there to witness the Kingdom of God in action. You are no longer a spectator of the Kingdom but a Citizen. You have become an ambassador on assignment. This simple idea, the revealed truth that you are in this world but no longer of it, will alter the course of your entire life.
In Kingdom economics all your talents, time, resources, relationships, and just about every other commitment you make becomes a vital part of the mandate Father has put before us: “To change the way God is perceived, known, and received in the earth.” If being authentic in a world of “fake-everything” is something our hearts resonate with, then a most urgent assignment is to consider with Godly discernment what we believe and what we proclaim to the world in the name of God.
The Godly discernment we speak of is not as simple as it may appear on the surface. By its very definition discernment looks for what is beyond the obvious or that which is by nature, counterintuitive to the pattern of this world. Discernment is an essential Kingdom antidote to the giants of “hidden motives, personal advantage, and remaining undisturbed.” It is the ability to see things from God’s perspective in any given situation. Whether the Spirit of God prompts you to go and preach forgiveness to the enemies of your nation (Jonah 4:2) or simply tell you to stop fussing about and sit at His feet like Martha (Luke 10:41), discernment, if you obey its call, will keep your testimony clear, clean, and authentic.
We hope that this will be the start to equip you with a Biblical, and yet profoundly practical understanding of discernment as an essential skill for every Kingdom Citizen. Should you choose to embrace it, we guarantee that it will cost you some of your most treasured presuppositions but that the ultimate fruit of it will be your authentic witness.
You are greatly loved,
The Lifechangers Family
