Difference Between Soul and Spirit—Dealing with Presuppositions #7
Soul—our mind, emotions, and will. Most of us live out of the soul realm—not spirit.
When we speak of spirit we are discussing the human spirit. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God is able to separate soul and spirit and Mary gives insight in making a distinction between soul and spirit in her response to the Lord.
Learning to be spiritual means that we have embraced the meta-cognitive (see presupposition #5) and revealed truth that speaks to our spirit.
We invite you to learn to worship God in spirit which allows your spirit to mature. In this maturing, our souls (mind, emotions, and will) are governed by our spirits while being conformed to the Person of Jesus Christ.
