Sovereign or Providential—Dealing with Presuppositions #6
Bob shares from an experience at John Knox’s house on a trip many years ago where he engaged providence.
Examining and understanding the difference between sovereign and providential is a pivotal point in seeing who God is. Through the Way of Christ, God wants to be our Father. As we walk in Christ, we have the joy of relating to Father, Son, and Spirit in a relational way.
God’s providence is our inheritance – this is a gift we choose daily to receive. The alternative is to walk in independence or rebellion and only engage God’s governance in a sovereign manner.
When you pray, say, “Our Father ….” – this is relating in a familial, providential way, not as a King.
