There are those who say that God cannot or will not guide us in our day. Others flippantly say, “God led me.” The following pages are an attempt to take another look at spiritual guidance in the light of what the Bible teaches on the subject. Neither God nor His Holy Spirit can be reduced to methods, but in searching the Scriptural records, we come to recognize that He does work according to principles.

This is not a theological treatise or an effort at Biblical scholarship. I simply invite you to take another look with me as we attempt to distinguish God’s guidance from the confusion of our own desire, prejudices, preconceived notions, and impulses which clamor for our attention.

We should take great comfort in the promise given us in Isaiah 35:8, “And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.” (Amplified)

My sincere prayer is that “Take Another Look at Guidance” would contribute to your growth, safety and pleasure along the way. Remember, no man gets lost on a straight road!
