If we deceive ourselves, we become unreal. If no one else knows of the deceit, you are still aware of the unreality and the trauma that is occurring internally. Skilled self-deceit leads to deceiving others and this process gets easier with practice.

If you “cut across the grass” in the race and believe you are being true, you have violated your very person. This sophisticated self-deception can only be broken in humility, and with the Truth of the person of Christ bringing Kingdom reality.
